Not long after posting episode 24 (Where Are the Christian Sci-Fi Movies?), Ben was contacted by the Lammimans to see if he was interested in seeing their feature film, Remember.

Ben had a chance to talk with Dallas and Greg about the movie, its origins, making on a micro budget, making Christian films in general, science fiction inspirations, and C.S. Lewis (because it IS the year of C.S. Lewis at Strangers and Aliens).

So, it’s been a while coming, for a variety of reasons (scheduling being the main one), but here is our DOUBLE sized episode of Strangers and Aliens. And in this monster-sized edition, we tackle a monster sized topic! The conclusion to the epic Dark Knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, et al. There is so much meat to talk about here that we couldn’t cover it all!

Because of scheduling, Ben recorded two parts of the conversation . . . one with Dr. Jayce and the second with Steve (although, considering how long it took Ben to get the episode ready, it may have been easier just to wait a week and find some better times to record, but we digress). So this episode does have a clear split in the middle. But the conversations are very different, and cover different aspects of the movie.

We had Paul Asay, author of God on the Streets of Gotham, come and talk about his book, the Batman movies, his favorite villains, his hopes and fears about the new movie, and his opinion of other superheroes . . . and Aquaman.

God on the Streets of Gotham is a book about the spiritual ideas that can be found in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, and we at Strangers and Aliens recommend reading  it. It’s challenging and uplifting and interesting and we’re sure there are more adjectives ending in “-ing”, but we don’t want to be repetitive. Just go ahead and listen to the interview.

We also open the mailbag and talk about some feedback regarding the Batman movies and the Batman episode we did two episodes ago.
