Another enjoyable couple of fantasy movies for me, beyond the great ones you and others mentioned, are

Highlander (the original), Legend, Sword and the Stone (Disney), Labyrinth, Ladyhawke, Stardust (the movie), Willow and the Hobbit cartoon.

From a spiritual standpoint, since you took out the main one I would have said… Highlander pulls on a lot of heart strings and almost asks some interesting questions. I suppose I’d have to go Superman as well for top spiritual billing if you leave out the two big ones.

I’m going to also mention Ice Pirates as a guilty pleasure… because no one else will. 🙂

I’m still waiting for one of the big DnD settings/characters to make it to the big screen. They always like to throw out “DnD movies never make money” but they never want to make a real DnD movie, just toss out their own junk. Make a Forgotten Realms movie already. Drizzt would be a stupid simple sell. They always make this more complicated than it needs to be.

Personally I’d love to see a Dark Sun movie, but the chances of that are pretty slim. The Prism Pentad is still my favorite paperback series.

You guys forgot to mention Lewis’ Space trilogy as a possible movie series.
